hypothalamus and eatingHow does the Hypothalamus govern behaviour?

The Hypothalamus is the regulator of the homeostasis in our body, but I wonder how it actually steers our behaviour.
For example with satiety regulation: how does the Hypothalamus make us start or stop eating?
Does it have a connection with the cortex?
In a book I rehypothalamus and eatingad it goes by the basal ganglia, but if so, does it have a connection to them?
Thank you!
The Hypothalamus maintains homeostasis using both the nervous and endocrine systems; it produces the hormones that are secreted by the posterior pituitary gland and sends releasing fhypothalamus and eatingactors to stimulate hormone secretion by the anterior pituitary gland. The posterior lobe of the pituitary gland stored and secretes hormones produced by the hypothalamus. For example ADH is synthesized in the hypothalamus and secreted from the posterior pituitary gland.hypothalamus and eating
