do cats have spiritsI have two cats, one is a Siamese and the other is a long hair white cat. (not sure of the breed.?

Anyway...the Siamese cat use to be fat and quiet and liked to go off by herself. She only needed attention, occasionally. Well, about two months ago, she started losing weight and now looks normal and is alot more energetic. She needs constant attention and whines when she does not get it. The other cat, won't have anything to do with her. Although, previously, they use to cuddle and be close. It almost seems like her spirit left and a new cat spirit entered her body. She is completely different than she use to be. What do you think is going on?

I rescued a 15 yr old cat dying from this condition. She was treated with radiation, after a brief period of tapazole medication. She is 22 yrs old now and still has a happy life.

I agree, a vet would be better able to tell you if all is alright physically. Though there are many differdo cats have spiritsent things that can effect cats behavior. New people or something you brought into the house that is new to them. These can bring about odd behaviors as well and make them feel either threatened or insecure. I would be concerned about the sudden weight loss though and I would definitely have the Siamese checked out by a vet.
I really think you need to go to the vet. Their could be something wrong with your cat that made it loose all of that weight.
I have a Siamese cat who went through a similar change when we added an additional cat. My Siamese has always been needy and whiny, that is part of the breed. Does she have all of her teeth? Mine lost most of hers and consequently lost a lot of weight. She is back up to her normal pudgy self with the additon of soft cat food.
